The Atlanta Falcons released an encouraging injury report ahead of their Week 17 game against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football. With Christmas falling on Thursday, the Falcons opted out of practice, instead providing an estimated report for the week.
Cornerback Isaiah Phillips, who was activated from injured reserve on Wednesday, participated in limited practice. This marks a significant moment for Phillips, a third-year player who has only appeared in one game this season. In that outing against the Washington Commanders in Week 4, he managed to record just one tackle while playing nine snaps.
While Phillips is back on the practice field, it remains uncertain if he will see action in either of the final two games of the 2025 regular season. Other players who were limited in practice on Thursday included wide receiver Drake London, rookie edge rusher James Pearce Jr., and tight end Teagan Quitoriano.
London returned to the field last Sunday after missing time since Week 11. Head coach Raheem Morris commented on London”s performance, noting that he appeared a bit rusty but still made key contributions. “We got him back out there last week; he felt rusty, looked a little rusty at times,” Morris said. “But you know, he”s Drake. He”s productive when out there. He got two big conversions for us on third downs. I look forward to him getting even better this week.” Morris emphasized the importance of getting London back into a rhythm and returning to the game he loves.
As for players not participating, cornerback Mike Hughes has already been ruled out for Monday”s matchup against the Rams due to an ankle sprain. Morris confirmed Hughes” absence, stating, “Mike Hughes obviously didn”t play last week. Had the ankle sprain. We probably won”t see him this week for sure.” The kickoff for the game between the Falcons and Rams is scheduled for 8:15 PM at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
