Giants Sign Darnell Mooney to One-Year Deal

The New York Giants have officially signed former Atlanta Falcons receiver Darnell Mooney to a one-year contract. This deal, which can reach a value of up to $10 million, brings a speedy and versatile player to the Giants” receiving corps.

Mooney, standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing 180 pounds, has a solid track record in the league. Over his career, he has participated in 91 games and made 80 starts, primarily with the Chicago Bears from 2020 to 2023 and the Falcons during 2024 and 2025. He has recorded 309 receptions for 4,028 yards and found the end zone 17 times. Additionally, he has made 13 rushing attempts, gaining 59 yards with one rushing touchdown.

His standout performance came in 2021, where he achieved personal bests in receptions with 81 and receiving yards at 1,055 across 17 games. That season also saw him score four receiving touchdowns along with his only rushing touchdown to date.

At 28 years old, Mooney was initially drafted by the Bears in the fifth round out of Tulane in 2020. After spending the last two seasons with the Falcons, he was released just before the start of free agency last week.

Mooney”s agility and speed make him a valuable asset for the Giants, who are looking to strengthen their receiving options after the departure of Wan”Dale Robinson to the Tennessee Titans. He is expected to serve primarily as a WR2 and adds depth alongside fellow receivers Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton.

Despite this new addition, the Giants may still seek to enhance their receiving lineup through next month”s draft, indicating that they are not resting on their laurels with this signing.
