Jaxson Dart, the newly drafted quarterback for the New York Giants, has expressed confidence in the team”s potential to emulate the success of the New England Patriots as they prepare for the upcoming season. Dart”s comments come as he prepares for his first full offseason with the Giants under head coach John Harbaugh.
After the Patriots” resurgence with head coach Mike Vrabel and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels last season, many Giants fans are hopeful that Dart can achieve a similar transformation. During an interview with Elizabeth Fania of Sports Illustrated, Dart was asked if he thinks the 2026 Giants can follow the path of the 2025 Patriots.
“Absolutely,” Dart replied, emphasizing the importance of pursuing the highest achievement in football. “If you go into any season with the highest accomplishment not on your mind of chasing the Super Bowl, winning a Super Bowl, I think that you”ve already lost a season. So, I”m not looking to rebuild. I”m not looking for a process of years to come. I”m ready to go right now, and I know the guys are feeling that same way. This organization these last several years have been in some hard seasons. And everybody”s just starving to win.”
Harbaugh, who previously led the Baltimore Ravens to a Super Bowl victory, is excited about Dart”s potential as his starting quarterback. Dart is recognized as a dual-threat quarterback, capable of making significant plays with both his arm and his legs. He noted the positive impact of having a coach who believes in him, stating, “When you have a coach who has confidence in you and believes in you, as players, that makes us play better because you know that your coach has that confidence and that belief that in any given moment they”re going to pick their guy over anybody else”s.”
Dart expressed his eagerness to work with Harbaugh, saying, “I think from a player”s standpoint, he”s a coach that I”ve picked over any other coach, and I”m excited for him and for us as a team.”
As the Giants gear up for the new season, Dart is focused on more than just making the playoffs. He is determined to lead his team in pursuit of a championship. “Our team”s ready to go chase the big one, right now,” Dart declared, as he prepares to watch Drake Maye compete in Super Bowl LX against the Seattle Seahawks on February 8.
