CINCINNATI — This Christmas, Joe Burrow took a playful leap into the past by gifting his offensive linemen some truly unique items. According to a report by ESPN”s Ben Baby, the star quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals presented his offensive line with authentic prehistoric bones from a variety of ancient animals, which included creatures such as dinosaurs, bears, and mammoths.
Burrow hosted his teammates at his home in Cincinnati, where they were welcomed by an impressive display of these ancient bones. Players had the opportunity to choose their favorite fossil based on their arrival time and seniority within the group. Among the selections, Ted Karras opted for a woolly mammoth tusk that is believed to be around 30,000 years old. Offensive tackles Orlando Brown Jr. and Amarius Mims each chose cave bear skulls, while rookie left guard Dylan Fairchild received a piece from a Tyrannosaurus rex, which added to the assortment of fascinating gifts.
This is not the first time Burrow has surprised his teammates with unusual gifts. Last year, he presented them with Japanese katana swords, each with its own historical significance. The Bengals have cultivated a closely-knit locker room culture during Burrow”s tenure, and this latest gesture is expected to enhance that camaraderie as the offensive line enjoys its strongest season to date, boasting a 5.2% sack rate, which is the 10th best in the NFL.
As the team prepares for their upcoming game against the Cardinals, they hope to unwrap a winning present on the field. For those interested in more coverage of the Bengals, additional stories and insights can be found on their YouTube channel and through various podcast platforms.
