Jordan Love Leads Packers to Thanksgiving Victory Over Lions with Four Touchdowns

The Green Bay Packers celebrated Thanksgiving with a thrilling 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions, thanks to a stellar performance from quarterback Jordan Love, who threw four touchdown passes. This win improved the Packers” record to 8-3-1, positioning them second in the NFC North division, just behind the Chicago Bears.

Love matched his career-high with the four touchdown passes, showcasing his skills under pressure. Notably, he completed two crucial touchdowns on fourth down, including a game-clinching throw to Dontayvion Wicks with only 1:55 remaining in the game. Earlier in the second quarter, Love connected with Wicks for the Packers” first touchdown, also on fourth down. Before halftime, he found Romeo Doubs for another fourth-down score, and after the break, he hit Christian Watson with a 51-yard touchdown pass, followed by his one-yard pass to Wicks.

In total, Love completed 18 of 30 passes for 234 yards without throwing an interception. Reflecting on his performance, Love stated, “To be able to go out there on fourth down and execute, make some big-time plays, that”s the difference in that game right there. That”s what it comes down to — just going out there executing those gotta-have plays and we made plays tonight.”

The Lions had their chances, attempting two fourth-down conversions but failing to convert either. On their final possession, they settled for a field goal after Micah Parsons sacked Lions quarterback Jared Goff on third down. Goff had a solid outing, completing 20 of 26 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns, while David Montgomery contributed with a rushing touchdown. Despite their efforts, the Lions, who have been NFC North champions for the past two seasons, fell to a record of 7-5 and currently sit third in the division as they fight to regain playoff contention.

The Lions faced additional challenges during the game, as they were already missing three starters and lost star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to an ankle injury in the first quarter. Meanwhile, in other Thanksgiving matchups, the Dallas Cowboys hosted the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Baltimore Ravens, leading the AFC North, welcomed division rivals the Cincinnati Bengals.
