Jordan Love Throws Four Touchdowns in Packers” Victory Over Lions

On November 27, Jordan Love showcased his talent by throwing a career-high four touchdown passes, leading the Green Bay Packers to a 31-24 victory over the Detroit Lions in Detroit. This win not only improved the Packers” record to 8-3-1 but also allowed them to sweep the season series against the Lions, potentially giving them a crucial tiebreaker in the NFC North.

The Packers now sit in second place in the division, trailing the Chicago Bears, who have an 8-3 record and are set to face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 28. The Lions, the two-time defending division champions, fell to 7-5, further complicating their playoff aspirations with a third loss in their last five games.

In the game, Love converted two critical fourth downs, both resulting in touchdown passes during the first half. Notably, he connected with Christian Watson on a 51-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter, extending the Packers” lead to 24-14. The Lions attempted to respond but faced setbacks, including a dropped pass from Jameson Williams on a fourth-and-3 play while trailing by ten points.

Despite the struggles, the Lions” defense managed to halt the Packers momentarily, bringing the offense to the Green Bay 4-yard line. However, a sack by Micah Parsons forced Lions” coach Dan Campbell to settle for a field goal, reducing the deficit to 31-24 with just under three minutes remaining.

Love”s performance included 18 completions out of 30 attempts for 234 yards, highlighted by a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dontayvion Wicks on a fourth down in the second quarter. He later added a 1-yard touchdown pass to Wicks, marking the receiver”s second score of the game.

On the other side, Lions” quarterback Jared Goff completed 20 of 26 passes for 256 yards, including touchdown throws to Williams and rookie Isaac TeSlaa. Williams recorded a career-high seven receptions for 144 yards but could not secure a pivotal fourth-down catch in the final quarter. Meanwhile, running back Jahmyr Gibbs struggled, managing only 68 yards on 20 carries.

In terms of injuries, the Packers had defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt carted off the field late in the game due to an ankle issue. Cornerback Keisean Nixon was active after previously leaving a game with a neck injury, while several other players, including wide receiver Matthew Golden and linebacker Quay Walker, did not participate. The Lions dealt with the loss of wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who exited in the first quarter with an ankle injury, alongside other inactive players.

Looking ahead, the Packers will host the Bears on December 7, while the Lions prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys at home on December 4.

The final score: Packers 31, Lions 24.
