Colquitt County recently welcomed former University of Georgia football player and NFL Super Bowl champion Malcolm Mitchell for an inspiring event aimed at promoting literacy among local students.
Mitchell introduced his “Read with Malcolm – Share the Magic Foundation” program to all second and eighth graders during two separate sessions. This initiative has been dedicated to enhancing children”s lives through reading since its inception in 2016.
The literacy initiative features Reading Rallies, such as the ones held in Moultrie, which combine the traditional author visit with an energetic pep rally, creating a dynamic reading experience for students. The hour-long program included a magician to add an element of fun, and every participant received a copy of Mitchell”s book.
The Colquitt County Educational Foundation proudly collaborated with the Colquitt County School District to host Mitchell and the “Share the Magic” program. The event was made possible through the generous support of sponsors including Southern Regional Technical College, Swartzentruber Medical Services, and Southeastern Urogynecology & Pelvic Surgery.
