Marvin Harrison Jr. Absent from Cardinals” Wednesday Practice Ahead of Rams Game

The Arizona Cardinals began their preparation for Sunday”s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams with the release of their first injury report for Week 14. Unfortunately, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. was unable to participate in practice due to a heel injury.

On a more positive note, running back Emari Demercado was back on the field after missing time. However, the Cardinals had a total of eight players who did not practice, including running back Trey Benson, who is currently on injured reserve.

Defensive lineman L.J. Collier, who has been on IR since the roster was trimmed to 53 players, saw his 21-day practice window open on Wednesday.

The detailed injury report for the Cardinals is as follows:

  • Did not participate:
  • RT Kelvin Beachum (groin)
  • RB Trey Benson (knee/practicing while on IR)
  • WR/RS Greg Dortch (chest)
  • WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel)
  • CB Max Melton (heel)
  • DL Walter Nolen III (knee)
  • OLB Josh Sweat (not injury related/rest)
  • S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (ankle)

Things are not looking promising for Benson, as his 21-day practice window will close next week. He started with four limited practices but has not been able to practice for three consecutive days.

After missing two games due to an appendectomy, Harrison returned to action last week but sustained a heel injury during the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, Dortch is a new addition to the injury report.

For those who participated with limited engagement on Wednesday, the report includes:

  • DL L.J. Collier (knee/practicing while on IR)
  • RB Emari Demercado (ankle)
  • T Christian Jones (knee/practicing while on IR)

Demercado suffered his injury early in the Week 11 game against the San Francisco 49ers and has missed the last two games. However, his progression to limited participation is a hopeful sign.

On the other side, the Los Angeles Rams also released their injury report:

  • Did not participate:
  • WR Davante Adams (hamstring)
  • NT Poona Ford (calf)
  • CB Darious Williams (tibia)

Those who had limited participation included:

  • S Kamren Kinchens (shoulder)
  • ILB Omar Speights (ankle)
  • RB Kyren Williams (ankle)
  • OLB Byron Young (knee)

Full participation was noted for WR Tutu Atwell (hamstring/practicing while on IR).
