Quarterback Beau Pribula Visits Third School After Entering Transfer Portal

A notable transfer quarterback is visiting his third college football program following his entry into the NCAA transfer portal. The portal officially opened on a recent Friday, allowing college football players to seek opportunities with different teams until January 16. The current transfer cycle has seen over 3,000 players enter, with many quarterbacks leaving Power Four programs for new prospects.

One such quarterback is former Missouri starter Beau Pribula, who has one year of eligibility left at his potential third school. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 212 pounds, Pribula began his career with Penn State under coach James Franklin in 2022, where he redshirted without seeing game action. In 2023, he participated in run packages while Drew Allar handled the bulk of the quarterback duties. During that season, Pribula completed 11 of 21 passes for 149 yards and four touchdowns, alongside 329 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns. The Nittany Lions maintained a similar quarterback strategy into the 2024 season, where Pribula posted a 26-of-35 passing record for 275 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception, while rushing for 242 yards and four touchdowns.

Pribula then transferred to Missouri for the next season, but injuries limited his participation to 10 games. In that time, he recorded 1,941 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions, while also rushing for 297 yards and six touchdowns. He declared his intention to transfer just before Missouri”s appearance in the Gator Bowl against Virginia.

Since the portal”s opening, Pribula has already visited two Power Four schools showing interest in him, and a third program emerged on his radar this past Wednesday. According to Bruce Feldman from The Athletic and FOX Sports, Washington has entered the competition to secure Pribula”s commitment. The Huskies are dealing with a significant issue in the current transfer portal cycle, as just days after signing an extension, Demond Williams Jr. opted to enter the portal. Washington is working to retain Williams but is also proactive in hosting quarterbacks like Pribula in case he decides to leave.

Another school that recently brought Pribula in for a visit is Georgia Tech. With Haynes King“s eligibility coming to an end and both offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner and backup quarterback Aaron Philo moving to Florida, head coach Brent Key is in urgent need of a new quarterback. Additionally, there is a possibility for Pribula to reconnect with James Franklin at Virginia Tech, as the Hokies are still seeking a new quarterback after Kyron Drones announced his departure.
