The 2025 NFL season has reached its tenth week, revealing significant contributions from this year”s rookie class. Several players stood out in Week 10, demonstrating their potential and impact on their respective teams.
At quarterback, Tyler Shough of the New Orleans Saints delivered a strong performance against the Carolina Panthers, leading to his first NFL victory. The rookie, who was a second-round pick from Louisville, completed 19 of 27 passes for 282 yards and two touchdowns, earning a PFF passing grade of 75.5 without any turnover-worthy plays.
In the running back category, Woody Marks from the Houston Texans achieved the highest PFF grade among rookie running backs this week. Marks carried the ball 15 times for 68 yards and a touchdown, while also contributing with two receptions for 18 yards, resulting in a PFF rushing grade of 87.5.
Wide receiver Jayden Higgins, also from the Texans, had a breakout game against the Jaguars. He caught five of eight targets for 42 yards and a touchdown, achieving a career-high PFF receiving grade of 78.3.
Another notable receiver, Luther Burden III of the Chicago Bears, played a crucial role in the team”s comeback against the New York Giants. He recorded three receptions for 51 yards, marking his second-best performance this season. Jaylin Lane of the Washington Commanders had a strong showing despite the team”s loss to the Detroit Lions, catching one pass for 41 yards.
At tight end, Jackson Hawes of the Buffalo Bills continues to impress. Although his reception volume is low, he has been effective as a blocker and caught a 26-yard touchdown against the Dolphins, earning a PFF grade of 83.7.
On the offensive line, Josh Conerly Jr. from the Commanders and Aireontae Ersery of the Texans both showcased solid performances in their respective games. Conerly allowed just one pressure against the Lions, while Ersery demonstrated improved pass protection against the Jaguars.
Defensively, Jalon Walker of the Atlanta Falcons was a standout edge defender, recording three pressures and a sack against the Colts, earning a run-defense grade of 81.4. Yahya Black of the Pittsburgh Steelers made a significant impact as a defensive interior player, achieving a remarkable PFF grade of 91.0 in his game against the Chargers.
In the secondary, Nikko Reed from the Chargers and R.J. Mickens also made their mark. Reed excelled in coverage, allowing only one reception for eight yards, while Mickens contributed with an interception against the Steelers.
This week”s performances highlight the growing influence of rookies in the league, setting the stage for an exciting remainder of the season.
