San Jose State WR Danny Scudero Jr. to Enter Transfer Portal After Stellar Season

Danny Scudero Jr., a standout wide receiver from San Jose State, has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal following an impressive season in which he tallied over 1,200 receiving yards. This announcement comes as the 2025 college football regular season wraps up, and the NCAA transfer portal is set to open on January 2, 2026.

Scudero, who stands at 5-foot-9 and weighs 174 pounds, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining as he seeks a new program. His football journey began at Sacramento State in 2023, where he participated in four regular-season games and both FCS playoff matches, primarily contributing on special teams. By his second year with the Hornets in 2024, Scudero”s role expanded significantly. He recorded 53 receptions for 667 yards and five touchdowns, along with a rushing touchdown.

His transfer to San Jose State prior to the 2025 season proved to be a game-changer. Scudero emerged as the leading receiver for the Spartans, amassing 88 receptions for 1,291 yards and 10 touchdowns. He consistently showcased his talent, exceeding 100 receiving yards in six games, including an impressive performance where he recorded over 200 yards against Hawaii. This remarkable output earned him multiple accolades, including a spot on the 2025 First Team All-Mountain West Conference and recognition as a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist, highlighting his status as one of the top receivers in the nation.

This season, the Spartans faced challenges, managing only one non-conference win against Idaho while suffering close losses to Central Michigan, Texas, and Stanford. In conference play, San Jose State started strong at home with victories over New Mexico and Hawaii but struggled on the road, ultimately not securing any wins in Mountain West away games.

As Scudero prepares to enter the transfer portal, his impressive season has certainly elevated his profile, and he is expected to attract significant interest from programs looking to add a dynamic playmaker to their roster.
