Six Running Backs to Avoid in Week 11 of Fantasy Football

As Week 11 approaches, fantasy football managers face tough decisions regarding their lineups. Several running backs are struggling with unfavorable matchups and subpar performances, making them candidates to sit this week.

One notable mention is Kenneth Gainwell, whose situation mirrors that of Zach Charbonnet. The uncertainty surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles backfield has not yielded the expected rewards. Both players received 14 carries last week, but only combined for a single target. The presence of George Holani, who managed seven carries in a blowout loss, raises further doubts about their value this week. The Seattle Seahawks are set to face the Los Angeles Rams, a team that has been particularly tough against running backs, allowing the fewest fantasy points in the league.

Another running back to consider sitting is Rachaad White. Although he had a decent role, his rushing attempts are dwindling, with Sean Tucker increasingly taking over the primary rushing duties. In Week 10, Tucker recorded nine carries for 53 yards, while White could only muster 38 yards on 10 carries. While he did see five targets, his overall rushing volume continues to decrease, placing him at high risk for fantasy lineups.

JCM also deserves a mention after managing just 30 yards on 11 carries, with minimal involvement in the passing game. He faces a challenging matchup against the Miami Dolphins this week. Once thought to be a favorable matchup, the Dolphins” defense has improved significantly, limiting notable performances from other running backs in recent weeks.

The New York Giants offense is another concern, especially with Tyrone Tracy Jr. likely to see reduced opportunities due to a concussion suffered by quarterback Jaxson Dart. This week, they will face the Green Bay Packers, a team that ranks among the best in limiting fantasy points to running backs.

Lastly, rookie running back D”Andre Swift had a disappointing Week 10, receiving only seven carries. The anticipated uptick in touches following his breakout in Week 9 did not materialize, making him a risky option against the Minnesota Vikings.

Given the landscape of injuries and bye weeks, fantasy managers must be strategic in their lineup decisions. The volatility at the running back position this season makes it even more crucial to avoid players in unfavorable situations.
