The match took place in Holmdel, where the top-ranked team in New Jersey, according to NJ.com, set the tone early with an impressive 24-0 lead in the first quarter.
Leading the charge for St. John Vianney was Madison Kocis, who scored a game-high 23 points. Kocis displayed an exceptional all-around performance, making seven two-pointers, two three-pointers, and converting three of four free throws. She also recorded four rebounds, four assists, and a game-high five steals, contributing significantly to her team”s success.
Alongside Kocis, Taylor Sofilkanich added 11 points, while Tatum Sharpe chipped in with nine points. Defensively, Gianna Sano made her presence felt with an impressive nine blocks, in addition to scoring seven points.
Despite struggling offensively for most of the game, Trinity Hall found some rhythm in the second half, outscoring St. John Vianney 15-10 in the third quarter. However, the early deficit proved insurmountable for Trinity Hall.
St. John Vianney”s balanced scoring attack continued with contributions from Antonia Jackson, who hit two three-pointers for a total of eight points, and Stella Lockhart, who led the team in rebounds with five while also providing three assists.
