Tom Brady has indicated that while he is unlikely to don the uniform for Team USA in flag football at the 2028 Olympics, he is open to contributing in another capacity, possibly as a coach. The renowned quarterback shared his thoughts during an appearance on “Good Morning America,” where he was promoting his upcoming flag football event in Los Angeles, which was relocated due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
When asked about the potential of competing for his country in this newly recognized Olympic sport, Brady remarked, “I would never say never, but it”s probably unlikely.” At 48 years old, Brady acknowledged that he would prefer to allow the current NFL stars, such as Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, to take the field while he considers stepping into a coaching or advisory role if invited.
Brady expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming Olympics, saying that the excitement surrounding the event has sparked his interest. However, he also emphasized his current commitments, stating, “I love my FOX job. I love doing my broadcasting, big commitment to that. I love the NFL, I love the Raiders. I love working on that and different projects I have. So, I got a lot going on.”
With the flag football event approaching this weekend, it remains to be seen if this experience will sway his thoughts about participating in the Olympics in any capacity.
