While some seek more playing time or a better fit in terms of coaching style, others aim to enhance their prospects for the NFL Draft. Raiola”s aspirations appear to be centered on winning at a higher level, as indicated by ESPN reporter Max Olson, who noted that he wishes to “lead a College Football Playoff contender” after his time in Nebraska.
As one of the most highly regarded recruits in the nation, Raiola was ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class by 247sports. His initial promise, however, did not translate into the anticipated success at Nebraska, where he faced challenges, including a lack of protection that resulted in 27 sacks over nine games this season. In 2025, he showed improvement with 2,000 passing yards and 18 touchdowns against six interceptions before a season-ending injury against USC.
Olson suggests that Raiola should consider a program with an offensive system that better suits his skills as a pocket passer. One potential destination that aligns with his goal is Oregon, although the current quarterback, Dante Moore, is also seen as a strong NFL Draft candidate. Should Moore enter the draft, Oregon could become an attractive option for Raiola.
Other schools mentioned in connection with Raiola include Louisville and Arizona State. However, both programs may not offer the same level of playoff potential. Louisville has yet to reach the College Football Playoff, and Arizona State faces its own challenges as it navigates the transfer portal landscape.
