Trevon Diggs Returns to Practice Ahead of Cowboys vs. Lions Matchup

Trevon Diggs, cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, is on track to return to the field after spending time on injured reserve due to multiple injuries. On Monday, the Cowboys issued their initial practice report for the upcoming Week 14 game against the Detroit Lions, indicating that Diggs, who is recovering from a knee issue, was a limited participant.

According to Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com, Diggs resumed practicing on Sunday, which initiated a 21-day window for his return. The Cowboys have until December 21 to either activate him from injured reserve or place him on season-ending IR.

In mid-October, Diggs suffered a concussion at home. Following this, he was sidelined for two games before the team opted to place him on injured reserve to ensure he could clear the concussion protocol and manage knee soreness.

Feeling positive about his recovery, Diggs expressed excitement about getting back on the field. “I”m really excited,” he stated on Sunday, as reported by Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com. “I feel like momentum is going, and I just want to make sure I go out there and continue the momentum, put out great effort, make plays, and just continue to try and help this team win.”

After a month on injured reserve, Diggs shared how he felt now compared to earlier in his recovery. “I feel way better now because you don”t know how you”re going to feel when you get out there, you know?” he said. “I went out there, I was feeling good the first couple of weeks, and then it started to weigh on me a little bit. I started getting some swelling in my knee. Now, I don”t have any swelling in my knee, I feel good, I feel like I”m running good, I feel like my hamstring”s strong, everything is good and strong. I feel ready.”

This season, Diggs has participated in six of the Cowboys” twelve games, registering 18 tackles. Due to his knee injury, the former Alabama standout has not completed a full season since 2022. The Cowboys are welcoming Diggs back at a crucial moment, having secured victories in their last three games. Currently, Dallas holds a record of 6-5-1, placing them second in the NFC East. To secure a playoff spot, the Cowboys must continue their winning streak, as the San Francisco 49ers occupy the last playoff position with a 9-4 record.
