Japan”s National Football Team to Train in Mexico Before World Cup

Japan”s national football team is set to conduct a training camp in Monterrey, Mexico, in preparation for the upcoming World Cup. This announcement was made by the Japan Football Association on Friday.

The Samurai Blue will first play an exhibition match against an opponent that has yet to be determined on May 31 at Tokyo”s National Stadium, also referred to as MUFG Stadium. Following this, they will head to Monterrey.

The World Cup, which begins on June 11, will be notable for being co-hosted by three nations for the first time, including Canada, Mexico, and the United States. After acclimatizing to the climate in Monterrey, the Samurai Blue will move to Nashville, Tennessee, to continue their preparations for the tournament.

Japan”s first match in the World Cup will be against the Netherlands in Group F on June 14, taking place in Arlington, Texas. They will subsequently play against Tunisia on June 20 in Monterrey, followed by a match against a qualifier from Europe on June 25, also in Arlington.
