Kid Rock is set to perform at the Turning Point USA Super Bowl halftime show, which he described as tailored for individuals who have a deep love for America. During a discussion with conservative influencer Benny Johnson, Rock articulated the intention behind the alternative halftime show.
“One thing important that I would like to get out there and say to everyone is that, I think I speak for us all at Turning Point, the other artists that are performing, when I say that in no way, shape or form — don”t let the left twist this around — like, in no way are we approaching this with any hate in our hearts,” Rock stated. “We”re simply going to go play some great songs, like I”ve said, for our base — people who love football, love America, love good music, love Jesus. It”s pretty much that simple,” he added.
Joining Rock on stage will be country-rock artist Brantley Gilbert alongside country singers Gabby Barrett and Lee Brice. In October, Turning Point USA announced plans for an “All American Halftime Show” for this year”s Super Bowl, featuring the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots in the featured matchup.
The event has stirred mixed reactions, especially after Rock faced criticism for past comments regarding his performance preferences. Despite this, he remains focused on delivering a show that resonates with his audience”s values.
As the anticipation builds for the Super Bowl, the alternative halftime show promises to celebrate themes of patriotism and American culture, catering to fans who share similar sentiments.
