The CIF Southern California Regional finals took place on Friday, showcasing intense high school football action across various divisions. The outcomes highlighted the competitive spirit and talent of the participating teams.
In the Division 1 finals, Cathedral Catholic triumphed over Los Alamitos with a score of 42-21. Meanwhile, Bakersfield Christian narrowly defeated La Habra in Division 2, securing a 24-21 victory. Venture emerged victorious against Arroyo Grande in Division 3, winning 35-28.
The competition remained fierce in Division 4, where Barstow edged out Reedley Immanuel with a close score of 13-12. In Division 5, El Cajon Christian claimed victory over Cerritos Valley Christian, finishing 27-13. Valley Center also secured a win in Division 6, defeating Valley View 30-13, while Woodbridge shut out San Fernando 13-0 in Division 7.
Looking ahead, Saturday”s schedule promises more excitement, with several matchups set to unfold. In Division 1, Oxnard Pacifica will face Granite Hills at 7 PM. Division 2 features a clash between Rio Hondo Prep and Santa Fe Christian at Carlsbad High School, starting at 6 PM. The Division 3 matchup between Delano Kennedy and Carson is also scheduled for 6 PM.
In Division 4, Riverside Hillcrest will take on Beckman at Tustin High School, with kickoff at 6 PM. Bishop Union will play against South Gate in Division 5, while San Diego Morse faces Grace at Moorpark College in Division 6, both at 6 PM. Finally, Santee will meet South El Monte at 6 PM in Division 7.
Additionally, the CIF State Championships will feature an exciting matchup in the Open Division, with De La Salle going head-to-head with Santa Margarita at Saddleback College on December 13 at 8 PM.
