The Super Bowl LXI is set to take place at SoFi Stadium on February 14, 2027, marking a significant event for the Los Angeles area. This announcement comes after the last Super Bowl hosted at SoFi, where the Los Angeles Rams triumphed over the Cincinnati Bengals in a thrilling match in 2022.
The Los Angeles Super Bowl Host Committee, under the guidance of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, has officially received the responsibility to host this upcoming Super Bowl. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed excitement about returning to the state-of-the-art venue, stating, “We are thrilled to return to the world-class SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LXI, five years after the Los Angeles Rams lifted the Lombardi Trophy on their home field.”
Goodell highlighted the significance of Los Angeles to the NFL, noting the presence of two franchises, the NFL Network, and various media partners in the region, emphasizing the city”s role as a central hub for football-related activities. He also pointed to the upcoming inclusion of flag football in the 2028 Summer Olympics as a testament to the city”s vibrant sports culture.
Super Bowl LVI, held on February 13, 2022, celebrated Los Angeles with the Rams securing their first championship in the city. The event featured a star-studded halftime show with local legends like Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, contributing to its historical global viewership and substantial local economic impact.
Kathryn Schloessman, president and CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission, commented on the significance of hosting Super Bowl LXI. “Los Angeles is proud to once again welcome the NFL”s biggest moment of the year to Los Angeles,” she stated. “Hosting Super Bowl LXI allows Los Angeles to leverage a global stage to celebrate its history, uplift our communities, and create lasting economic and social impact that extends far beyond the final whistle.”
In addition to the championship game, a series of highly anticipated events, including NFL Honors, the Super Bowl Experience, Super Bowl Opening Night, and various community programs, will be held throughout the Los Angeles region during Super Bowl Week, further enhancing the local festivities surrounding the event.
