Texas DPS Trooper Sent Home After Incident During A&M Game Against South Carolina

A Texas DPS trooper was sent home following an incident that occurred during the broadcast of the Texas A&M football game against South Carolina on Saturday. The event took place after a touchdown when players from South Carolina were seen running into the northeast tunnel before turning back.

As the South Carolina players returned to the field, a Texas DPS trooper was observed walking between two of the players, resulting in a brief bump of arms. The trooper then turned and pointed at one of the players while saying something, which was captured on the game”s broadcast and quickly circulated on social media.

In a statement released on social media, the Texas Department of Public Safety acknowledged the incident, stating, “The Texas Department of Public Safety is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game. The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game. Our Office of Inspector General is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time.”

Texas A&M Police also commented on the situation via X, saying, “We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game day assignment.”
