Three Local Teams Compete in 9-Man Football Semifinals on November 8

As the 2025 9-man football playoffs approach their climax, four teams remain in contention, with only two advancing after Saturday”s semifinals. The crucial matchups are scheduled for November 8, leading up to the Dakota Bowl on November 14 at the Fargodome, which kicks off at 9 AM.

The top-seeded New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets are gearing up to host their third playoff contest this year. They will take on the fifth-seeded Hankinson Pirates at 2 PM at New Rockford Athletic Field. Under the leadership of head coach Elliott Belquist, the Rockets boast an impressive record of 11-0, having won each game by an average margin of 26 points or more.

On the other side, Hankinson enters the semifinal with a record of 10-1. Their only defeat this season came at the hands of LaMoure/Litchville-Marion on September 19. Currently seeded second in the playoffs, LaMoure/Litchville-Marion has been dominant, winning every match by at least 30 points. Head coach Andy DelaBarre and his team are set to host South Border in their semifinal showdown.

South Border earned their spot in the semifinals by pulling off a surprising 26-22 upset over third-seeded Linton/HMB in the quarterfinals. The Mustangs currently hold an 8-2 record for the season.

With the stakes high and local pride on the line, these semifinals promise to deliver thrilling action as teams vie for a shot at the state title.
