Browns Sign Linebacker A.J. Epenesa to One-Year Deal

The Cleveland Browns have bolstered their linebacker corps by signing former Buffalo Bills defensive end A.J. Epenesa to a one-year contract that can reach up to $5 million, according to sources.

The 27-year-old Epenesa has played six seasons in the NFL, during which he started 19 out of 91 games and recorded a total of 24 sacks. His ability to pressure the quarterback will be an asset for the Browns, especially on critical third downs.

In addition to Epenesa, the Browns have also added linebacker Quincy Williams, who previously played for the New York Jets. This move reflects Cleveland”s commitment to strengthening their defense in preparation for the upcoming season.

Notably, Carson Schwesinger earned the title of Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2025, indicating the potential for a robust defensive lineup.

The Browns are looking to enhance their competitive edge in the division, and these acquisitions could play a significant role in their defensive strategy.
