Chiefs Criticized for Low Offer for Jets RB Breece Hall

The Kansas City Chiefs, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, sought to bolster their backfield ahead of the recent trade deadline. However, their attempt to acquire Breece Hall from the New York Jets drew significant criticism from fans.

On Tuesday, following the conclusion of the trade deadline, NFL insider Dov Kleiman reported that the Chiefs had proposed a fourth-round pick for Hall. The Jets, however, were looking for a third-round selection to finalize the deal. This apparent lowball offer did not sit well with many fans, who took to social media to express their discontent.

Breece Hall, who was selected 36th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, has been a key player for the Jets, accumulating 581 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns this season. In contrast, the Jets made significant moves ahead of the deadline, trading two-time Pro Bowler Sauce Gardner to the Colts in exchange for two first-round picks and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell. Additionally, defensive tackle Quinnen Williams was sent to the Cowboys for a future second-round pick and a first-round pick, along with defensive lineman Mazi Smith.

The Chiefs, on the other hand, had a relatively quiet approach to the trade deadline, revealing confidence in their current roster”s ability to compete for another Super Bowl title. Currently, the defending AFC Champions are on a bye week after suffering a 28-21 defeat against the Buffalo Bills, holding a record of 5-4 and sitting third in the AFC West behind the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.

Mahomes and the Chiefs will resume their campaign against the Broncos on November 16 at 4:25 PM ET. For fans eager to follow the team”s progress, the latest Kansas City Chiefs schedule and depth chart for the 2024-25 NFL season are available for review.
