Giants Sign Darnell Mooney to Enhance Offensive Options for 2026 Season

The New York Giants have bolstered their offense by signing wide receiver Darnell Mooney. The agreement, reported by multiple sources, is a one-year contract that could be worth up to $10 million. This move aims to provide additional support for second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart in the upcoming 2026 season.

Mooney, who was recently released by the Atlanta Falcons, spent the previous two seasons with the team. In 2024, he recorded 64 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns. However, his production dipped in 2025, as he managed only 32 catches for 443 yards and one touchdown. Prior to his stint in Atlanta, Mooney played five seasons with the Chicago Bears, accumulating 213 receptions for 2,593 yards and 11 touchdowns.

In addition to Mooney, the Giants have also secured tight end Isaiah Likely and wide receiver Calvin Austin. This influx of talent joins a returning group that includes Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Isaiah Hodgins, and Theo Johnson, giving the Giants a diverse array of offensive options as they prepare for the new season.

The Giants” strategy appears focused on surrounding Dart with capable targets, enhancing their chances of success in a competitive league. With the addition of Mooney, the team looks to improve its passing game and make a stronger push in 2026.
