Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors Suggest High Cost for Seahawks, Lions, and Bears

The latest trade rumors surrounding Maxx Crosby have revealed potential costs for teams such as the Seattle Seahawks, Detroit Lions, and Chicago Bears interested in acquiring the star edge rusher from the Las Vegas Raiders.

If Crosby becomes available this offseason, many teams are expected to express interest. However, interest does not equate to willingness to meet the steep price likely required to land him. Reports indicate that acquiring Crosby could demand a considerable investment, possibly including two first-round draft picks and more.

Vincent Bonsignore of The New York Post has noted that Crosby and the Raiders are expected to discuss his future during the upcoming combine, which could provide further insight into his situation. Bonsignore mentioned that the anticipated demand for an elite player like Crosby could push his trade value significantly higher, with teams likely lining up to pursue him.

“One way or another, expect to get some clarity this week in Indianapolis, with the Raiders getting a better handle on Crosby”s wishes and, just as pertinently, getting an idea of what type of compensation might be available to them should he ask for a trade,” Bonsignore stated. He added that the number of teams interested in acquiring Crosby could reach double digits, suggesting a minimum return of two first-round picks.

The Lions, Seahawks, and Bears each hold their first-round picks for the next few drafts, specifically in 2026 and 2027, putting them in a position to meet Crosby”s valuation. Furthermore, each of these teams possesses young talent that could be included in a potential trade to facilitate a deal.

Among these teams, the Lions appear to be the least likely to pursue Crosby aggressively. General manager Brad Holmes has shown reluctance to make major acquisitions recently due to the impending salary cap implications associated with significant contracts for his homegrown players. Although the disappointing conclusion of the 2025 season might prompt a change in strategy, the emergence of Al-Quadin Muhammad alongside Aidan Hutchinson may reinforce Holmes”s cautious approach at the edge rusher position.

On the other hand, the Bears are in need of added firepower opposite Montez Sweat. After a notable improvement in 2025 under first-year head coach Ben Johnson, it is plausible that general manager Ryan Poles may consider trading for Crosby to enhance the team”s defensive capabilities.

The Seahawks seem to be the most strategically positioned to acquire Crosby. With a young and talented roster, they can afford to part with significant draft capital. Additionally, they have ample cap space, making it feasible to take on Crosby”s contract. The Seahawks” defense would greatly benefit from adding an elite edge rusher like Crosby, which could significantly improve their chances of success in the upcoming seasons.

As the trade rumors continue to circulate, all eyes will be on Indianapolis this week as discussions unfold regarding Crosby”s future.
