The Baltimore Ravens made a significant move to enhance their defensive lineup on Monday night by trading for edge rusher Dre”Mont Jones from the Tennessee Titans. According to NFL Media”s Ian Rapoport, the Ravens secured Jones in exchange for a conditional fifth-round draft pick.
Jones has been impressive in recent weeks, accumulating 4.5 sacks in his last four games along with nine quarterback hits. This performance comes after a slow start to the season, where he did not register any sacks in the first five games. Throughout this season, he has recorded a total of 26 tackles, including five tackles for loss.
Entering his seventh professional season, Jones was originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. After spending two seasons with the Broncos, he moved to the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Titans this past offseason.
In his career, Jones has participated in 99 games, starting in 61 of them. His career totals include 236 tackles, 35 sacks, and 72 quarterback hits, showcasing his ability to disrupt opposing offenses.
The Ravens” acquisition of Jones is a strategic move to strengthen their defense as they continue their pursuit of success in the season.
