Texans Sign Defensive Tackle Naquan Jones, Waive Jalen Mills

The Houston Texans have made a roster change by signing defensive tackle Naquan Jones off waivers from the Los Angeles Chargers. This move comes as the team places defensive tackle Tim Settle Jr. on injured reserve following foot surgery that will end his season.

At 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 313 pounds, Jones brings prior experience to the Texans” defense. Over his career, he has participated in 56 games, starting in eight of them. His statistics include 99 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits.

Jones, who is 27 years old, has previously played for the Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, and Miami Dolphins before his time with the Chargers. In eight games this season with Los Angeles, he recorded 10 tackles, including one for loss, and deflected one pass.

In a corresponding move, the Texans have waived safety Jalen Mills to make room for Jones on the roster. This decision reflects the team”s effort to bolster their defensive line as they navigate through injuries.
